More about Jennifer Klein
and An Ancient Truth

Ku-aya's story is rooted in my love for the history of the ancient Middle East. I have taught about it for 23 years and I still love it!

My favorite part of working on this story was the research I did on Mesopotamia. As I would come across something that connected to what my students were learning, I would add it to the book. For this reason, An Ancient Truth complements the grade six social studies curriculum here in the United States.

I visited the two relics of Queen Puabi mentioned in the story at the University of Pennsylvania Archaeology Museum (https://www.penn.museum/) and felt like I was visiting old friends. Seeing them in person was such a thrill! I have known the characters in my book for so long, now, and I'm so happy to finally be sharing them with all of you. In writing about them, I wanted you to hear their conversations, learn what was important to them and unravel the mystery that they found themselves in. All the while, I wanted you to be immersed in their journey through your senses; smelling the scents, hearing the sounds and seeing the sights of the time period. I hope so much that these things came across in my writing.

If you would like to comment on your experience reading my novel, please leave a rating on Amazon, or visit An Ancient Truth on facebook at facebook.com/anancienttruth. Thank you for reading An Ancient Truth!

In case you popped over here to learn more about me, here are a few things I'd love to share. I love to sing! Yup! I do it all the time. I sing with a band, I sing to/at my students, I sing to myself, I write silly history songs...and sing them. Curiously, I currently only have songs about, Julius Caesar, geography, Bob the Knight, the Renaissance, and historical sources in my repertoire. Huh! Guess I need to get one going about Mesopotamia! Shout out to Mr. Nicky on YouTube for already cornering the market on that one, by the way! I also love camping, hiking, listening to audiobooks and podcasts and being with my family and friends. Many of the characters in An Ancient Truth are based on personality traits of people I love.
